Strategy Informer: Salvation Prophecy receives dev walkthrough teaser

It’s always a happy surprise when I find a new site talking about Salvation Prophecy. Especially if it’s a slick site like Strategy Informer. I guess a few people are actually interested in watching that Playthrough Video I posted. And I haven’t even gotten to the really exciting stuff yet.

There isn’t much space ship stuff in this first video, because you don’t earn a fighter ship until rank 2. I’m going to put up a series of these narrated videos, so we’ll get to the space ship stuff soon.

So there’s these English lads who run a little site called Rock Paper Shotgun. There’s very little to say about RPS. Except that they’re some of the coolest game journos in the biz.

No matter what happens for the rest of the day, it won’t matter. A wayward meteor could land on my head. It won’t matter. A rabid hyena could urinate on my shoes. It won’t matter. I could find out the Easter bunny isn’t real. It won’t matter.

Take My Money, Take It All! Say Hello To ‘Salvation Prophecy’

Games are no stranger to epic space adventures but Salvation Prophecy, considering it’s the work of one man and various artists, looks absolutely stunning.

I’d happily gush a million over-excited words about Salvation Prophecy right now but I know not to. Why? Simply because the game is ludicrously ambitious. It’s the work of one man going by the name of Firedance Games, with a number of artists contributing from all over the globe. Salvation Prophecy is an epic space-based action-RPG and it reeks of ambition and quality too.

There’s four playable factions which offer different playstyles. There’s space battles aboard your very own upgradeable ships which you’ll have to navigate through wormholes and explore random galaxies. You can also land on planets and duke it out in terrestrial combat in something that resembles Battlefront-sized battles. We’re very excited about seeing this project continue and just hope that it’s as good as it looks – check out the trailer below!

I talked with the author, Chris Priestman. Cool guy. I’ll hopefully be doing a more in-depth interview with him soon.

Working with Mike was fun. He wanted some game screenshots to work with. I asked “how many?” He wanted a bazillion. I asked “how big?” Gigantic. So if the internet was slow a couple weeks ago, it’s because I was sending 50000000 gigabites of images to Mike. Sorry about that!

And Jacob was awesome too. I live in Canada. He lives in Denmark. We would stay up together until the wee hours of the morning getting the site working. Except Denmark is 8 hours later than Canada. So I must have routinely kept him awake overnight until like 6 a.m.

Mike and Jacob were both super enthusiastic. And that’s the key to any creative work, whether it’s video games, music, art, writing, or web design. Enthusiasm. And caffeine. Lots and lots of caffeine.
